Société des amis de Clairac has been formally established

In the second half of the twentieth century, the perseverance of a local scholar, Claude Martin, revealed a wealth of information on the history of Clairac and its inhabitants, in particular in the 16th and 17th century. It is a great pity that Mr Martin died on February 7th 2018, at the age of 90 years. Fortunately his work has been taken over by Clair Morizet, with whom Mr Martin has been sharing his findings for many years.

In order to widen the interest in the history of Clairac, Clair Morizet and others, have organized a successful symposium on the history of Clairac and its abbey in 2016. A second symposium will follow on June 2nd 2018, which will be devoted to the Reform in Clairac.

That symposium will be organized by the Société des amis de Clairac. That association has been established in February 2018 by Clair Morizet, who will act as its chairman. More information on that Association can be found on its website.
